To File an Ethics Complaint

Any DAOR member or member of the public may file an ethics complaint against a member of the DAOR and/or broker alleging a violation of the NAR Code of Ethics or MLS Rules & Regulations.  You must submit a summary of the events along with the appropriate filing forms.   The DAOR staff will then contact the respondent and request a response.  Your complaint will then be sent to the Grievance committee to determine if it should go forward for a hearing.  If so, then a hearing will be scheduled with a 21 day notice, and three qualified tribunal panel members from our Professional Standards Committee will hear your case and come to a conclusion.   An ethics complaint must be filed within 180 days from the time the facts giving rise to the dispute occurred.

First step – Determine who you are complaining against.

  • If you are a member of DAOR, or a member of the public, or a member of another association and you have a complaint against a DAOR member, we can process this complaint.

  • If you are a member of the DAOR, and you have a complaint against another agent in your office, we cannot process your complaint, you must inform your broker.

  • If you are a member of the DAOR, and you have a complaint against a member of another association of Realtors® must file your complaint with the association that member belongs to.

Second Step – Open DA-1.
